UPDATE: Victims ID'ed in Oneida County Crash

Investigators have released the names of three people killed in a two vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon near Harshaw.

The crash happened on Highway 51 near Fernwood Road in the Town of Cassian.

Investigators say the crash involved a passenger car and a semi-tractor/propane tanker.

The two occupants in the passenger vehicle were identified as Justine G. Ringberg, 22 of Bayfield, and Raquel E. Nunez, 22 of New York, New York.

The occupant of the propane tanker was identified as Jeremy J. Ritchie, 22 of Minocqua, Wisconsin.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office and Oneida County Medical Examiner's Office are continuing their investigation into the events surrounding vehicle crash.

UPDATE: Weds. 4:29 PM, Jan. 15, 2014

Both directions of U.S. Highway 51 in Oneida County reopened Wednesday morning after a deadly crash Tuesday.

Three people were killed during the collision between a propane tanker and car at County Highway K around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say the wreck was weather related. The names of the victims are not being released at this time.

The highway reopened around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, eighteen hours after the crash.

Three people have died following a crash between a propane tanker and car Tuesday afternoon in Oneida County.

The crash happened around 1:16 p.m. on Highway 51 near Fernwood Road, in the Town of Cassian, near Harshaw.

The names are being withheld pending notification of their families.

The Department of Transportation said the crash was weather related.

That portion of Highway 51 is expected to remain closed until 8 p.m., according to the DOT.

ORIGINAL STORY: Tues 2:37 p.m., Jan. 14, 2014

The Department of Transportation says the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 51 near Fernwood Road in Harshaw are expected to be closed until 8 p.m. Due to a crash.

The crash scene is about 17 miles northwest of Rhinelander in Oneida County.

A Rhinelander radio station reports the crash involves a propane truck.

Detour as follows; US 51 northbound traffic exit at Fernwood, east on Fernwood Road to Lakewood Road. North on Lakewood road to Rocky Run Road, west back to US 51. Reverse for southbound traffic.

The crash occurred around 1:15 p.m.
