Two people charged with embezzling nearly $90,000 from the Tomahawk Bus Company are expected to learn if their case will head to trial in September.
Shad Harper, 44, and Kim Harper, 46, are both charged with theft, fraud, and identity theft after police say they used company money for personal vehicle repairs, groceries, pornography and synthetic drugs.
According to the criminal complaint citing financial documents, in 2007, the couple had a vehicle serviced and used the bus company's account to pay for it. The alleged fraud continued until the couple was fired from the business in June 2013.
According to court documents, the bus company owner told investigators in the summer of 2012, Shad told him they would be about $30,000 short of making their budget. The owner said they had never been short before.
Shad was listed as being the bus company manager. His wife, Kimberly was a part-time office employee.
Shad had begun working with the bus company in November 2006.
Both are free on $1,500 signature bonds and will return to court on September 12.
