The company planning to build a mega-dairy farm in Wood County is suing the town board.
The board decided to stop all new construction projects in the area after hearing concerns from citizens about the possible environmental impacts of large farms.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, in response Wysocki Farms has filed a lawsuit against the Town of Saratoga and its supervisors.
Wysocki Farms proposes building a 5,300-cow Golden Sands Dairy. The company says the Town's moratorium violates state and federal laws and that the project complies with all zoning requirements.
The Department of Natural Resources plans to complete an environmental impact statement on the proposed dairy which calls for 49 high capacity wells.
On August 23, a public informational meeting will be held at the Saratoga Town Hall. The first session is from 3-5 p.m., the second from 6-8 p.m.
