Marathon Area Elementary School is getting spruced up. It's all thanks to volunteers from Rasmussen College and their annual Community Service Day.
Faculty members and staff from the college painted murals on the walls, some with pictures and others with inspiring quotes. The principle of the school, Jeff Reiche, says they just called out of the blue.
"Well, I'm just really grateful for the volunteers that came today," said Reiche, "It's not like they have to be here. They wanna be here. So they truly wanna make a difference."
Volunteers from the college have already donated more than 28,000 hours of community service. Community Service Day is usually every year on the 3rd week in June.
