The first annual United Way CommUNITY Fest held over the weekend is being called a big success.

Nearly 30 area businesses and organizations collected food donations.
They then built impressive sculptures out of the non-perishable food items.

The result was 24,300 pounds of food that will now be donated to the Hunger Coalition, which helps feed needy families around the area.

The public was invited to vote on their favorite sculpture for a one dollar donation. That brought in $2400, which will also go to the Hunger Coalition.
