The city of Wausau is preparing to open the city pools near mid-June; with the exception of Kaiser Pool which will not re-open until 2015 due to reconstruction.
Memorial Pool, located at 505 Memorial Park Road, and Schulenburg Pool, 1533 Summit Drive, will both open for the season on June 13. Daily admission is one dollar from 1-7:50 p.m.
Families can swim for free Wednesday from 6-7:50 p.m.
Parents with nonswimming children were encouraged to ask pool staff for lifejackets for their children to wear while they are at the pool.

Hefko Pool in Marshfield will open June 7. The pool is located at 1805 S. Roddis Avenue.
Swimming Hours are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday - 1:00 to 6:45 p.m.; and Tuesdays & Thursdays - 1:00 to 7:45 p.m. Admission for Marshfield residents is $2 for youth and $2.50 for adults.
Free swim is Monday-Saturday - 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
The Weston Aquatic Center will also open June 7. It's open daily June 7 through August from 11:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Cost is $4. Seniors $2, and $2 after 6 p.m.
Mead Pool in Wisconsin Rapids will be opening on Wednesday, June 11, at noon. The pool is open from noon - 5 p.m. and 5:30 - 7 p.m. The pool is located at 1421 Alton Street. Wading Pool Hours are Noon - 7 p.m.
Daily admission is $2 per person; children under 6 are free. Season passes are available at the Parks & Recreation Office.
