Organizers and volunteers at North Central Health Care spent the morning unloading a third and final truck load of Christmas gifts for their clients and residents.
Every year North Central Health care teams up with three community agencies to provide clients and residents with these gifts. Each agency sets up "giving trees" at their various locations and then welcomes members of the community to pick a name and wish from the tree. The community donations are collected and then delivered to North Central Health Care.
Nearly 500 people will receive gifts donated specifically for them by members of the community. For many of them, it's the only Christmas present they will get.
"I don't care if you two and you're getting you're gift from Santa or if you're 92 and have wonderful, warm memories of Christmas in your heart, Christmas is a magical time of year and what's more magical than to get a gift from a stranger that just wants you to have a Merry Christmas," Volunteer Coordinator for North Central Health Care, Mary Ventzke, told NewsChannel 7.
