Police departments in Grand Rapids and Wisconsin Rapids are bringing back project ChildSafe. The program offers free gun locks because children getting access to a firearm is a common problem.
Chief David Lewandowski says, “The ChildSafety lock program has been around for awhile but we started to bump it up a little bit because of the new conceal carry laws that are out there. “
The safety locks are easy to use and come with instructions, and they can fit any semi-automatic gun that’s out there today. Gun locks like this can be picked up free of charge at either Grand Rapids or Wisconsin Rapids Police Departments.
If you don’t live in that area, you can call your local police department to find out where to get yours.
