A 31-year-old Waushara County man will spend 10 years in prison followed by 10 years extended supervision for providing heroin to a Wausau man that fatally overdosed. Lucas Zuehlke pleaded no contest to 1st degree reckless homicide in the death of Thomas Knickerbocker. In exchange for the plea, four other drug charges were dismissed, but considered during sentencing.
According to the criminal complaint, Zuehlke, of Coloma, sold heroin to Knickerbocker's girlfriend, Nycole Creed, to give to Knickerbocker in March 2013. Knickerbocker died from heroin toxicity on March 11.
Court documents state Creed worked with police in an undercover buy leading to the arrest of Zuehlke.
Creed is also charged in the case. She'll return to court August 18 for a clerical court appearance.
Zuehlke will receive credit for the 510 days he's already spent in jail.
