Breanna Schneller would have celebrated her 22nd birthday this month. Instead a bittersweet celebration will be held celebrating her life and keeping her memory alive.
The D.C. Everest High School senior was brutally murdered in May 2009 in Wausau. Her killer has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
Breanna's Smile Foundation was created by her father, Craig. The non-profit helps build leadership skills and encourage positive choices in the community.
During an interview with NewsChannel 7 last year, Breanna's father explained, "I don't want people to remember Bre for the way we lost her--I want people to remember her for what she stands for and what she wanted and what we're trying to accomplish with this foundation."
