Democratic candidate for Governor Mary Burke is touring small businesses in our area alongside former Congressman Dave Obey.
She stopped at the Red Eye Brewing Company in Wausau where she got a tour of the operation and talked with employees.
Burke says that developing new small business is key to the state's economy, something she feels the Walker administration hasn't prioritized enough.
"Overall we are 48th in the country right now under this administration in terms of new businesses being created. I know we can do a lot better, but we have to make sure we have the climate that is helping entrepreneurs get started." Burke said.
In a recent interview, Governor Walker told Newschannel 7 that Burke is refusing to make any campaign promises about Wisconsin's future.
He says that once he announces that he is running for re-election, he will lay out what he calls a "big bold agenda" that will include tax, entitlement, and education reform.
