If your looking for something fun to do this weekend with your family, it might be a great time to grab your tackle box and head out on the water. That's because this weekend is Free Fishing Weekend across Wisconsin.
While you normally have to have a license to fish, Saturday and Sunday across the state, you are able to do it for free.
It's a way to encourage people to take an interest in the sport.
Local bait shops say they always expect a strong turnout when the free weekend rolls around.
"It's a good opportunity for people to come in when you don't have to have a fishing license. We always stock up extra for this weekend in nite crawlers and minnows and what not, so we are expecting a good turn out. " says Keith Syring of Riverside Bait & Tackle.
It's not just fishing that is free this weekend.
Admission is also free to all State Parks and Forests on Saturday and Sunday.
