The Park Falls Police Department will test their preparedness for a bus crash during a drill Saturday, September 22 near 1st Avenue South.
In a news release, Chief of Police, Scott R. Straetz says there will be a lots of emergency services activity 1:30 pm to 5 pm.
He also says people who have police scanners may notice lots of emergency traffic about a bus crash and several injured children on the following channels: Price County Sheriff North, Park Falls DPW, Wispern, Chequamegon School Bus Frequency, Fire Ground Blue and EMS B, but it is only a drill.
There will also be a helicopter landing and taking off from the park adjacent to 11th Street South.
People may watch the drill by entering the Shopko parking lot from Highway 13 and walking to the rear of the building. If you do attend, you're asked to not approach the drill site from any other way as it could be potentially dangerous and it will confuse the emergency services personnel.
If you live in the area, 1st Avenue South will be closed to all traffic, however considerations will be made for residence living in this area.
