It may be chilly outside, but people are still screaming for ice cream. Briq's opened it's brand new location on Merrill Avenue in Wausau Friday.
Owner Kevin Briquelet-Miller says they've already served several customers who braved the elements to get their fix of the sweet stuff. This new location replaces the original location which was built 30 years ago by Briquelet-Miller's father-in-law.
"It's been bittersweet moving out of the building and moving into this new building," Briquelet-Miller tells NewsChannel 7. "There is a lot of him is in this store still."
While Briquelet-Miller says many customers have gone the traditional route, ordering from the windows outside, the more popular option seems to be the brand new drive-through. The drive-through will let them stay open a month longer than usual. The new location will close for the season on December 22nd and re-open on February 1st.
