Bridge Inspections to Take Place in Marathon, Waupaca Counties

Bridge inspections will be taking place next week in Marathon and Waupaca counties, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Drivers should expect to encounter lane closures on the following bridges while crews perform routine inspections. Some of the lane closures will require flagging operations.

Marathon County

•WIS 29 in Rothschild. The WIS 29 eastbound and westbound bridges over the Wisconsin River will have single lane closures on Monday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

•Thomas Street in Wausau. The Thomas Street bridge over the Wisconsin River will have a single lane closure on Tuesday, May 21 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

•County WW in Brokaw. The Marathon County WW bridge over the Wisconsin River will have a single lane closure on Tuesday, May 21 from 1 to 4 p.m.

•WIS 153 in Mosinee. The WIS 153 bridges over the Wisconsin River will have single lane closures on Wednesday, May 22 from 8 to 11 a.m.

•WIS 153 west of Mosinee. The WIS 153 bridge over the Big Eau Pleine River will have a single lane closure on Wednesday, May 22 from noon to 2 p.m.

•WIS 97 north of Stratford. The WIS 97 bridge over the Big Eau Pleine River will have a single lane closure on Wednesday, May 22 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Waupaca County

•County Road D in New London. The County Road D bridge over the Wolf River will have a single lane closure on Thursday, May 23 from 8 to 10 a.m.

•County Road X in New London. The County Road X bridge over the Wolf River will have a single lane closure on Thursday, May 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.

•County Road X west of New London. The County Road X bridge over the Wolf River will have a single lane closure on Thursday, May 23 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Motorists should be alert for slow moving vehicles and potential traffic backups during peak travel times. To avoid any delays motorists may want to use alternate routes. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
