Deputies say the woman killed in a Wood County Crash is 96-year-old Ruth Ruder.
According to a press release from the Wood Co. Sheriff's Dept., the accident happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday in the Town of Sigel, which is northwest of Wisconsin Rapids.
Deputies say a truck pulling a trailer was driving north on County Highway F when it hit a sedan a the intersection of County Highway C.
Ruder, the passenger in the Sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The car's driver, 80-year-old Linda Knapp, was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
The 43-year-old man driving the truck had minor injuries.
The accident is still under investigation.
Deputies say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
The intersection of County Road F and County Road C in the Town of Sigel in Wood County is closed due to a fatal car crash.
Lt. Quentin Ellis of the Wood County Sheriff's Department tells NewsChannel 7 that at least one person is dead following a two-car-crash at that intersection.
The Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash and more information will become available when the investigation is complete.
Lt. Ellis advises drivers to avoid that intersection, as it may remained closed for a couple more hours.
