SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) -- A boy examined by an Eau Claire pediatrician accused of sexual assault has testified he felt uncomfortable and embarrassed during his physical exam by the doctor.
The 17-year-old was the first prosecution witness to testify during Dr. David Van de Loo's trial in Douglas County Circuit Court. The teen testified that Van de Loo touched his penis three times for a total of 30 minutes during the exam in 2012. The boy's mother and stepfather went to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire to confront Van de Loo after learning of the incident.
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reports the boy's mother testified Wednesday that Van de Loo told them he was checking the teen for a medical condition.
The 61-year-old doctor faces 16 sexual assault-related felony charges involving 15 former juvenile male patients.
