Boy Not Seriously Injured after Being Struck by Vehicle in Wausau

One person is has been transported to the hospital after being struck while crossing Bridge Street in Wausau Monday afternoon. The accident happened around 5:22 p.m. near Newman Catholic High School.

Officer Nathan Porath from the Wausau Police Department said the victim was not seriously hurt and was alert and conscious. Officer Porath said the driver was heading north on 10th Avenue and was attempting to make a left turn on Bridge Street when the accident happened. The ages and names of the boy and the driver are not being released at this time.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors.

The crash remains under investigation and and Officer Porath said it is unclear at this time if the driver will be cited.
