Boy, 14, Accidentally Shot in Adams Co.

A 14-year-old Racine boy is recovering from gunshot wound to the abdomen after he was accidentally shot while target shooting.

According to a news release from the Adam’s County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 6 p.m. Wednesday at home on Cumberland Avenue in the Town of Strongs Prairie, which is east of Arkdale.

Deputies say the boy was on vacation with relatives, when he was shot by a 64-year-old man.

The victim was flown to a Marshfield hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Investigators believe the shooting was accidental, however an investigation is ongoing.
