Bones Found in Eau Claire Co. Confirmed to be Human

An anthropologist in Dane County has confirmed bones discovered by kayakers on the Eau Claire River near Kennan in Eau Claire County are human.

According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department, on Saturday, July 6; deputies with the assistance of Township Fire and Eau Claire County Medical Examiner collected two bones along with some clothing material that resembled a waist band.

The family to a drowning victim from 2001, that was never located, has been notified of the finding.
