UPDATE: Sat 7:35PM, March 1, 2014

Thorp's water emergency is over.

Officials with the City of Thorp say the second round of water samples came back clean from the lab this morning, and the DNR has given approval to lift the boil water order.

The Thorp Water Utility is asking customers to continue to use water conservatively through the weekend, but it can be used straight from the tap.

UPDATE: Tues 5:35 PM, Feb. 25, 2014

Two Clark County businesses are coming to the aid residents who may not have water due to two water mains breaks.

According to WEAU-TV, families in need are asked to stop by the Thorpedo Restaurant and pickup to cases of water. Distribution began and 4 p.m. Tuesday and supplies are limited.

The water donations are thanks to Morries and Gordy's County Markets.

UPDATE: Mon 10:50 PM, Feb. 24, 2014

The city of Thorp has issued a water boil advisory after a major leak was discovered in the city's water system.

Thorp City Administrator Randy Reeg says the leak is so significant that the wells are unable to keep up with demand and the water tower has drained.

The Department of Public works is working to locate and repair the problem. Currently the city has little or no water pressure.

Thorp Public Schools were cancelled Monday due to the water emergency.
