UPDATE: Mon 2:16 PM, Feb. 17, 2014

Neillsville Mayor Steve Mabie says water samples from the city water system were taken Monday and will be taken again Tuesday for testing.

Results of the tests are expected Wednesday morning.

The Boil Water Advisory for the City of Neillsville remains in effect. Notification will be made when the advisory is lifted.

ORIGINAL STORY: Fri 11:33 AM, Feb. 14, 2014

Neillsville residents are urged to boil their water following a water main break Thursday that lead to the loss of pressure.

The city sent a news release Friday about the advisory. It stated that the city's water may not be safe for drinking.

Residents are asked to boil the water for one minute at a rolling boil before use. Water needs to be boiled prior to use for dishwashing as well.

Boiled and bottled water should be used until further notice.
