Black River Falls Man Missing 1 Year

Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a 21-year-old Black River Falls man who ran from deputies after a traffic crash in the Town of Millston more than a year ago.

According to the Native News Network, on Jan. 25, 2012 around 7 a.m. Gene J. Cloud Jr. was driving on County Highway O, northwest of Warrens when lost control of his car and went into the ditch. When a deputy approached the car of offer assistance, Cloud ran into nearby woods.

Authorities tried to track Cloud with a bloodhound after some of his friends and family reported they had not heard from him.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department asks the public to search sheds, cabins and land in the towns of Millston, Knapp and Bear Bluff. The department asks anyone with information on Cloud to contact the department at 715-284-5357 or the Ho-Chunk Nation Police Department 715-284-9343 ext. 3433.

Cloud is an American Indian, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, jeans and black shoes.

According to the native news network, there have been reported sightings of persons matching Gene's description made to the Jackson and Monroe County Sheriff's Department. As of February 20, the last reported sighting was disbursed and four Sheriff's Department squads were dispatched to the scene. No one matching Gene's description was found.

Gene Jacob Cloud Jr. has been added to the Missing Persons list in the State of Wisconsin.
