EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) -- For the second straight day, Wisconsin voters are getting an up-close look at a key player in a tight White House campaign.

Democratic Vice President Joe Biden was scheduled to lead a rally Thursday at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire.

It is Biden's second Wisconsin stop this month, a sign of the state's new importance as an established presidential battleground.

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan held a campaign event near Green Bay on Wednesday. It was Ryan's third rally in Wisconsin since the home-state congressman joined Mitt Romney's presidential ticket.

President Barack Obama was last in Wisconsin in February. Romney last visited in August.
