Some of the nations fines hospitals are right her in Central Wisconsin. U.S. News and World Reports annual Best Hospitals ranks two of our area facilities in its 23rd edition.
Aspirus Wausau Hospital and St. Josephs Hospital tied for the 4th best in Wisconsin. The hospitals have to meet standards of strong performance over a number of categories. Executives say that at Aspirus they always push to improve their performance despite the number of awards.
Jeanne Scinto, Vice President of Corporate Quality Services say, “We constantly look at the data and the rankings that we get to see what’s driving our performance. We try to work with the data we have to improve our performance.”
Both hospitals have 10 high performing specialties, the most of any hospital within Wisconsin. Some of those areas include Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes, Geriatrics, and Neurology.
Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital was named Most Wired Hospital according to Hospitals and Health Networks Magazine. This award is give to the facilities that are focused on expanding and adopting information technology that protects patient data and helps patient flow and communication.
This is the 7th year they’ve been recognized for the use of health information technology that helps to improve performance.
