A benefit is planned this weekend to help a 4-year-old Marquette County girl suffering from a rare disease.
Delaney Lucas suffers from Parry-Romberg Syndrome, a progressive disease with no cure and no known cause. Parry-Romberg Syndrome causes atrophy to the soft tissues on one half of the face, basically it attacks and destroys the tissues under the skin on one side of the face. Delaney will have her 3rd surgery in April and the surgery is said to not be covered by insurance.
On Sunday, March 24 at noon family, friends and members of the community will walk around Silver Lake in Wautoma to raise pledges to benefit Delaney.
A fundraising event will also be held at Silvercryst of Wautoma. There will be live music,
food, drinks, bake sale, silent auction, raffles and more. Pledge forms are available at
Silvercryst.
Two benefit accounts have also been set up in Delaney's name. Donations for the “Dreams for Delaney” fund can be dropped off at any 1st National bank branches or at the Horicon Bank in Ripon at the branch located inside Pick-N-Save.
