As Marathon County Corrections Officer Julie Christensen is on the road to recovery after a brutal attack at the end of March, co-workers and friends are joining in to support her.

That's why a benefit was held for Christensen on Saturday. Friends rode bikes, walked, and ran on the Mountain Bay Trail in her honor.

Businesses in the area also helped out with food and refreshments.

A fund has been set up at Integrity Bank in Wausau underneath Christensen's name if you would like to donate.
