Hundreds of people scavenged for plastic eggs throughout Wausau's Robert W. Monk Gardens to get in the Easter spirit.
The free even was put on by the Wausau Rotary Club to get kids and their families out in the community and give them a chance to enjoy the natural setting. Hunters had to find six different colored eggs in order to get some Easter goody bags.
"It was very fun," said egg hunter, Nicolas Sazama. "You at least have some time with your family, be able to play and be able to get lots of exercise and you get treats at the end if you get lots of eggs."
He said his favorite part of the whole event was getting a chance to explore the gardens. The Easter Bunny also made an appearance, giving high fives and taking pictures with kids.
Any money that was donated went to the Garden fund to keep the site beautiful for the community. Click here if you would like to donate to the fund as well.
