Barron Police: Elderly Woman Climbs out Window, Dies at Hospital

The state will investigate the death of 76-year-old woman after she reportedly climbed out a window of an assisted living facility in Barron and was found dead Wednesday morning.

According to WEAU-TV, Juanita Toews was reported missing around 4:15 Wednesday morning. Toews was found outside about two hours later. She died at a nearby hospital.

The Barron Police Chief tells WKOW-TV, officers followed tracks in the snow and found her lying along a creek bed several hundred yards away.

A cause of death has not been officially released.
