The cold and wet weather has had quite a negative impact on Pine Valley Golf Course in Marathon. While they have been open for several weeks, business has been slow due to the continued cold temperatures and lack of sunny days. They have also had to deal with poor conditions on the green due to the rain.
"I think the course finally reached its saturation point." says Golf Pro Ryan Wendorf.
The bad weather is not just impacting the course itself, but also the teams that practice at Pine Valley. The Marathon High School golf team has been forced to practice in the gym during the rain and cold. Something that make preparing for meets difficult.
"It has become monotonous having to stay inside. It is very frustrating when we do start to miss meets." says Coach Ryan Winkler.
For now, both the golfers and the course itself are hoping for warmer weather ahead.
