Wausau Police Chief Jeff Hardel said a driver hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal when he struck the University of Wisconsin – Marathon County Civic Center around 7:20 p.m. Thursday.
Chief Hardel said the driver was cited with inattentive driving. He said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
