The Vilas County Sheriff's Office says they found a man frozen to the ground outside his home.
They say the report came in at 6:22pm on Saturday, March 1st.
Officers who responded to the scene identified the victim as 49-year-old Wade Willey. They say Willey was lying on the ground outside of his home.
Willey was last seen at around 1am Saturday. Police believe he died after exposure to the extreme cold weather.
The Vilas County Coroner and Sheriff’s Office are involved with this death investigation. Police say alcohol may have played a factor.
