All lanes of Hwy. 29 are now open near Marathon City after heavy rains caused flooding.

Monday, May 26th, 2014 - 10:20 p.m.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says water washed over both lanes. The DOT said it will be closed at least until 11:30 p.m. or later.

There is a detour in place. Eastbound: take County Highway H south to County Highway N, take County Highway N east to County Highway S, take County Highway S north back to Highway 29. Westbound: take County Highway S south to County Highway N, take County Highway N west to County Highway H, take County Highway H north back to Highway 29.

NewsChannel 7's Meteorologist Chad Franzen said the flooding is due to the heavy rain in the area that has been falling for the last several hours.
