An albino buck was spotted over the weekend in Vilas County. Jenna Kuehl, of Milwaukee, was able to snap a few photos the animal frolicking with other deer near a cabin in the Town of Cloverfield.

According to the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce website, the area is home to one of the largest albino deer herds in the state. Based on deer hunter reports, only about one deer in 30,000 is an albino.

A white coat isn't necessarily a blessing. It sometimes makes the deer more vulnerable to predators because they can't blend in with their surroundings.

Albinism is a recessive trait found in many animals including mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and even plants.
