Standing Rocks Park downhill ski area in Stevens Point will reopen on Saturday, February 2. The ski tows will operate from 11 a.m. Until 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays for the remainder of the ski season or until snow conditions deteriorate.

The park is located approximately seven miles east of the Plover/Stevens Point area. The 524 acre park is open year round for a variety of outdoors activities.

Active Portage County will sponsor a free cross country ski day at Standing Rocks on Saturday, February 2, from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. Free cross country ski equipment and free trail passes will be provided. Ski equipment is limited for some ages and sizes. Pre-registration is not required.

About 75 percent of the trails are rated as intermediate or expert trails because of the many hills and distances.

For more information on activities at Standing Rock Park, please contact the Portage County Parks Department office at 715-346-1433 or during the snow season, contact Standing Rocks park at 715-824-3949.
