It's called Dose-Edge and it uses barcode scanning and image capturing to make sure pharmacists and technicians are mixing medications as accurately as possible.
The system also refreshes every thirty seconds, keeping the most critically needed medications at the top of the list.
"It feeds the info to the technicians in the order of need and so the meds that are needed stat or emergency are put first in the work que, so that means the technicians will work on those first and get those out to the patients first," explains Pharmacy Director, Vanessa Freitag.
It's the first hospital in the state and one of the only in the country to use Dose-Edge.
