The 97 year old Marshfield grocery store owner who gained national attention back in July after defending herself against a robber has made the decision to retire.
Marge Wolf has owned Wolf's Grocery for more than 50 years, but now she says that she has sold the business and will close it down on Friday. She says that the decision to call it quits comes not because of the robbery, but simply because she can't do the physical tasks necessary to run the store.
"I'm not able to do it. I'm just not able to fill the shelves and go get stuff." Wolf says.
Wolf says closing shop isn't easy. Many from across the community turned out Tuesday to say goodbye. She says she is glad she has been able to continue to work into her 90's.
"I've had so many good memories, so many good times. I can't think back and say I wish I had done this a long time ago. " Wolf says.
Marge says she has found a buyer for the store. They plan to convert it into apartments in the near future.
