Curiosity is a fact of human life, but when it comes to checking out the tornado damage in and around our area, law enforcement is asking for your cooperation.
In Marathon County, several homes had the roofs ripped off and the Restlawn Cemetery is now surrounded by hundreds of uprooted trees.
The damage is drawing out the gawkers. Cars moving slowly are clogging up the streets and creating safety concerns for clean-up crews.
"Gawkers gum things and they can get in accidents themselves. Then we have to offer them services and it take away from the bigger picture. It is a lot better to check out the damage in the safety of your own home on local television," said Wausau Police Chief Bill Brandimore.
