Some people spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars just to pick up some change. A few hundred of these buyers visited Rapids Mall today for the 6th Annual Grand Coin Show.
The show included modern state quarters and other recent currency.
But it also featured old coins and currency valued at a few thousand dollars each.
Event organizer and coin dealer Gary Rosencrans says just about any kind of collector could benefit from a show like this one.
"You could find just about find anything you want here, there's contemporary coins, things you'd buy from the mint, there are coins back in the 1700's that'll be here, there'll be four coins here, lots of gold, just about anything you can ask in terms of coins," Rosencrans says.
Rosencrans says shows like these are beneficial because they give buyers a chance to actually see and touch the coins before buying them.
