From the time they are little most girls dream about their perfect wedding day, but getting caught up in the fairytale and not doing the proper planning could turn your big day into a wedding nightmare.
Last year Jessica Belmont attended a wedding expo in Stevens Point. Excited by the prospect of winning free and discounted wedding services, she and her mom signed up for lots of offers. A few weeks later all their efforts appeared to have paid off.
"I got contacted by Memory Albums and Photography and they said ‘congratulations, you've won half off any of our wedding photography packages’” Jessica said.
The bride-to-be said she was thrilled to get the call, especially after seeing the quality of the company’s work.
"They were very nice and we were just really happy,” she said. “We're a young couple and we don't have a lot of money for our wedding and we were just happy we had won half off a photography package. That was huge for us."
But the deal turned out to be too good to be true.
"We gave them a deposit, a few hundred dollars worth of a deposit. They went as far as to take our engagement pictures and then we never heard from them again."
And Jessica is not the only bride-to-be to burned by the Plainfield-based company.
"Because they had been at the wedding expo we figured they were legitimate,” she said. "They're ripping people off cause I'm one of nine or ten girls around the central Wisconsin area that I know of that they've taken money from."
In fact the Better Business Bureau has given Memory Albums and Photography, which also goes by the name Phantom Photography, an “F” rating. The BBB also shows multiple complaints have been filed against the company without resolution.
Now Jessica’s hoping her horror story will help other young and eager brides from rushing into things too quickly.
"It's stressful enough planning a wedding. The last thing you want is to start losing money, especially when you don't have a lot of it to begin with and you just need to be careful,” she said. "Before you give them money, before you sign the contracts, and before you trust them, you have to check them out."
After all, you used a lot of scrutiny choosing you husband to be. Why not investigate the folks who could make your wedding day with him a dream or a nightmare.

I'm yet another on her scammed list. I sent another letter to Shoppes at Woodridge in Marshfield to make sure that she isn't allowed back. If all of us keep calling malls to inform them of Shelby's scamming business with this article, we may be able to at least reduce the number of person she gets.
Shelby also got me for $400 in 2008. One thing I do is call all of the wedding expos in the area that I can find and warn them about her. I would be more than willing to help out in a cas against her. I would love to get my money back but with the list of people she already owes money I am not too optimistic but even to help others not get ripped off by her would be nice.
I have been also scammed by them as well. I would be more than willing to help in any way with the case. If anyone has any information about her and how we can stop her from ruining the dreams of brides please let me know.
