Getting ready to take care of the aging baby boomers, that's the goal of a federal grant that's headed to a Wausau college.

Friday, Sen. Herb Kohl was in Wausau to announce that a $400,000 grant will be given to the Northcentral Technical College to help train medical professionals.

Kohl says more people are needed in the medical field because of the country's aging population.

"We call them baby boomers that are gonna be retiring and will have increased health-care needs," said Kohl. "As a society, we have to provide that."

Kohl says there will be a 70 percent increase to the country's aging population in the next 10 years.
