Nearly 100 World War II veterans from Northcentral Wisconsin boarded a plane Tuesday morning bound for Washington, D.C. to see the World War II Memorial and other sites.

It's the "Never Forgotten Honor Flight" giving the vets a free trip to the nation's capital to see the memorial dedicated to them.

NewsChannel 7's Jeff Thelen is traveling with them and will bring back a number of stories as part of his special series, "Trip of a Lifetime," which continues Wednesday evening on NewsChannel 7.
