What's known as a "Topping Off" ceremony took place Wednesday at the Saint Clare's Hospital, Ministry Medical Group, and Marshfield Clinic Weston Center.
A topping off ceremony is when the last piece of structural steel is lifted into place.
Construction workers signed their names on the final beam, as onlookers awaited the placement into the more than 500 thousand square foot facility.
"It's a milestone for the project, we're now moving to enclose the facility and move on toward the completion a year from now," says Jeff Martin, Regional CEO for Ministry Health Care.
An evergreen tree and an American flag were placed on the ends of the beam, symbolizing good luck. The total cost of the facility is estimated at $150 million.
