Wausau Police Trade Cars for Bikes
Several officers with the Wausau Police Department are getting a little exercise while in the line of duty this week.

Several officers with the Wausau Police Department are getting a little exercise while in the line of duty this week.
A handful of officers have traded in their squad cars during the Wisconsin Valley Fair for transportation with two wheels.
An officer who heads up the bike team says the cycles are the perfect environment for the bikes because they can often go where squad cars can't.
Patrol Officer Todd Baeten says the bikes provide another tool for the officers to get out in the public.
Officer Baeten says even though the bikes can only be used during a portion of the year, the police department gets its money's worth while the weather is good.
He says last month alone, nearly half of his month was spent patrolling while on a bike.
