It’s so far, so good for safety in the construction at the Highway 51-29 interchange in Wausau.
State Troopers say there have been a few crashes in the work zone, but none of them have been deadly.
Troopers are doing some extra patrolling in the area to keep drivers at the 55 mile per hour speed limit.
They say any accidents in the work would have an extra negative impact on traffic, because many of the roads normally used for detours around Highway 51 are also under reconstruction.
Officials say the most important things to keep in mind as you drive through construction are have patience and keep a good distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
