It’s hard not to love puppies, but this one is really going to capture your heart.
A few weeks ago a 7-month-old Chihuahua named Ebony was brought into the Humane Society of Marathon County with a broken leg.
"She was found at a restaurant in the Wausau area, and hobbling around, so she was brought in,” said Mary Kirlin, executive director of the shelter. “We had the leg splintered up for awhile. It didn't take. It didn't mend."
That’s when shelter employees took Ebony to a vet where she underwent surgery and had her leg pinned. She is now on her way to recovery, but the humane society is still trying to pay her medical bills.
Her surgery expenses totaled $650. So far people have generously donated about half that.
