You never know what you'll find at auctions and that's half the fun.

Auction hunters are a dedicated bunch because they know that the selection is always changing and they're sure to find a one of a kind piece.

"They're all looking for a treasure and a bargain," says Grand Avenue Auction House owner, Janet Zastrow, "and they're apt to find that combination in the auction business.”

The Grand Avenue Auction House sells entire estates so that means furniture groupings, numerous home accessories and things you just can't find for sale in stores. The items at auction range from glassware to portraits to large desks and chairs. It can be intimidating to newcomers, but Zastrow says it brings people back week after week.

The next public auction on Grand Avenue is July 31 and there will be one in Little Chicago on August 14.
