Wisconsin-based Greenheck Fan Corporation has plans to expand, but not in our area.

The Schofield company intends to double the size of one of its plants in Mexico.

The doubling of the manufacturing space with eventually result in a proportional increase in the plant’s workforce there.

In a press release, Greenheck’s general manager Dave Kallstrom said "The decision to expand our
Mexican manufacturing operation was driven by the significant opportunities we see to sell our
products duty free into Mexico, and further south, in the near future.”

Here in Northcentral Wisconsin, the company has laid-off hundreds of workers since December 2008.

Greenheck manufactures industrial fans and ventilators.

I just wanted to say to "justanumber" I was laid off in April of last year already. I was an office worker, I saw all of the orders that came in, and I will tell you now that there weren't many... In one months time we went from having well over 100 orders a day just in centrifigul, and they dropped down to maybe 30 on a good day. There are facts there that they aren't getting the orders that they once were. I am in no way anti-greenheck. I would still love to work there. In order for a business to prosper, they need demand, which isn't there right now with the poor economy. So in a nutshell, no your not "just a number" you are a person and they see that! Everyone see that!

Thanks Ron for the more civil posting. We probably agree on more than we disagree. Losing one's job is a very emotional topic and you are lucky to still be in there. Continued good luck and have a nice weekend.
