MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The first album by Milwaukee native Danny Gokey debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The "American Idol" finalist released his country music album -- called "My Best Days" -- on March 2.
Nielsen SoundScan says Gokey's first-week sales were at more than 65,000 copies. That's the best first-week album sales by a debut country male in 18 years. It was No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.
The 29-year-old former church music director finished in the final three last season on the popular singing show.
