Some Wisconsin Rapids students are helping kids in the Middle East get an education.
3rd graders at Mead Elementary Charter School are collecting 'Pennies for Peace.'
The money raised will go toward building schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Students came up with several different ways to help the effort, and the class decided pennies could bring a lot of change.
"Were making cards to go to businesses and making it so they can put a jar out and when people see them they can put in pennies so they can help," says Gavin, a 3rd grader.
So far the class has collected more than $50 for 'Pennies for Peace' and students hope to raise much more.
If you would like to help, you can bring donations to Mead Elementary School during school hours.
